I get asked by a lot of people who are studying for the IELTS how they can improve their score to at least Band 7.0. The response to this question is not simple to provide; however, fortunately, there are a lot of pointers that you can use. Your ability to write well on the IELTS will benefit from your attention being focused on the areas that I'll describe in the following paragraphs. Additionally, engaging in stranger chat conversations, where you can practice your writing skills with individuals from different backgrounds and language proficiency levels, can offer a unique opportunity to enhance your language fluency and gain insights into diverse perspectives.

What exactly is involved in the IELTS Writing Exam?

The IELTS writing task for academic training is different from the general training version. The topics that are included in the Academic Writing section of the IELTS test were chosen specifically with undergraduate and postgraduate students in mind. On the other hand, general training tasks consist of excerpts on general topics that you regularly need to communicate in an environment where English is spoken (books, magazines, notices, company handbooks).

Advice on Managing Your Time for the IELTS Writing Exam

In the Writing portion of the IELTS exam, candidates are evaluated on their ability to respond to a task in a way that is coherent, grammatically correct, and displays a flair for language. Both IELTS Writing Task 1 and IELTS Writing Task 2 are included in the writing section of the exam. The candidates have an hour at their disposal to finish both tasks.

Give Specific Examples to Back up your Claim

Use relevant examples in your defense. You will be tasked with providing evidence to support your claim if you are writing about how you agree with nationwide governmental regulations regarding climate change, for instance, as part of your assignment you will be required to write about how you agree with these regulations. The efficiency with which socialist countries regulate the effects of climate change is one possibility.

Proofread

During a timed exam, you might convince yourself that proofreading is not necessary and that you simply do not have the time to do it. This line of reasoning can get you in a lot of trouble and could result in a grade reduction. Keep in mind that the test is evaluating your ability to write in English, and that includes having correct spelling, grammar, and verb agreement, as well as writing that is clear and well-polished.

Recognize the Nature of the Inquiry

Before you even attempt to answer the question, you need to make sure you fully grasp what it is asking. You will have a much better understanding of the examiner's expectations if you do it this way. One of the most common errors that students make is giving an answer that is insufficient to fully address the question.

Prepare your Response

Students who consistently receive the highest grades in Writing Task 2 are those who spend up to ten minutes planning out their responses. Before you start writing your essay, planning can help you organize your thoughts and create a structure for it. This will save you time and ensure that your essay is well-organized and logical.
